Last Wednesday 17th March I was very pleased to be invited by the London and Essex Group who meet at Brentwood to judge their print critique.

The evening was made up of BIPP and MPA photographers who had brought in their prints to be critique by my good friend fellow photographer Rebecca Portsmouth and myself.

The whole evening was a very well turned out evening and Rebecca and I spent the whole evening going through some very good images and expressing our views on each image.

The evening was finished with both Rebecca and I awarding a bottle of champagne to the image we both thought was the best image on the evening.

Once again thank you to the committee for inviting me.

Pengelly Photography have just had the pleasure of photographing the wedding of Kirsty and Oliver who were married at the lovely Suffolk wedding venue Smeetham Hall Barn, Bulmer, Suffolk.

The day started when we meet Kirsty and her bridesmaids actually at Smeetham Hall Barn as they were all getting ready there as they had already had their hair and make up done at The Mill Hotel.

While Kirsty and her bridesmaids were finishing getting ready we were able to photograph Oliver with his bestmen and ushers, due to the great weather we were having we were able to shot some great guys photographs as the light was perfect.

The whole wedding was a great wedding to photograph with everything running to time and once again we were able to get stunning photographs of both Kirsty and Oliver at Smeetham Hall Barn.

The evening was rounded off with a great band and also Oliver’s brother had arranged a great light show for the band and also light on the lake at the front of Smeetham Hall Barn.

Both Kevin and Sabrina would like to wish Kirsty and Oliver a very happy married life together and would like to thank them both for booking Pengelly Photography.

Well at last I have now got time to catch up on our blog.

It has been a very hectic few weeks for Pengelly Photography especially Kevin Pengelly ABIPP AMPA.

Last Tuesday 9th March I was invited by the MPA to obverse the judging of Licentiate panels being submitted at focus NEC Birmingham for photographers first qualification.

The day started very early at 6am to drive to Birmingham so I could be on the MPA stand at 9.30am the whole day was a very good learning experience for me in my quest at some stage to be a full judge with the MPA and this was such a great learning experience to see first hand what the judges have to go through to judge a Licentiate submission.

I was very pleased that through out the day I got all the decision correct and it was very pleasing for me that the chairman Eric Jenkins  asked my opinion on some of the panels.

So it goes without saying thank you so much to the MPA for allowing me to gain so much experience at Focus.

Well what a very busy weekend for both Kevin and Sabrina of Pengelly Photography as we have just spent Saturday and Sunday at the Pendrill Dance Show at Ramsey School, Halstead, Essex.

This is now the 6th year we have been photographing this great event, not only do we photograph the show we also help out as much as we can, also our daughter Chloe dances in the show  as well and loves every minute of it.

The show is made up of dancers from as young as 4 upwards, the dancers range from beginners to championship dancers.

This year the show was made up of 42 dances and was well received from the audience that attended the shows which comprised of 2 shows each day, so quite a tiring weekend for everyone involved.

All the photographs taken at the dress rehearsal and then during the show on Saturday afternoon are now on line so all you need to do is go to “yourphotos” and then on the left hand side go to “event” and then enter 6th March 2010 from the drop down menu.

Looking forward to next years show for 2011.

Pengelly Photography have just been informed that we have received 4 silver awards in the monthly competition run by the SWPP.

We entered 4 photographs into the following categories Wedding Contemporary, Wedding Traditional, Wedding Bridal Portrait and Portrait Pregnancy all our images gained a silver award.
