As expected with the new government in place VAT has been increased by 2.5% from 17.5% to 20%

For all our existing Bride&Grooms who’s weddings have already been booked our prices will be held as per the confirmation letter.

If you would like to beat the VAT increase Pengelly Photography will hold their prices until January so if you want to save a 2.5% increase then book Pengelly Photography before January.

After a great day yesterday playing golf with fellow professional photographer Steve Tarling, oh and Steve won, we made the drive from Ipswich to Brentwood for the joint BIPP&MPA Brentwood group meeting.

It was a fantastic evening with Steve Tarling showing a slideshow of the Ice Hotel he had photographed out in Sweden.

Also fellow professional wedding photographers Paul Cudmore, Gavin Woollard and David Islip also presented slideshow of their recent work, there was some stunning work on show and thank you guys for a very enjoyable evening.

The evening was even better when I was presented with my 2 certificates of Awards Of Excellence in the wedding category from the recent annual print competition.

On Monday I made the journey up to Coventry with my good friend and fellow full time professional wedding photographer David Islip to attend the MPA Judges training Day in Coventry.

This is the second time we have both attended this great training day run by Kevin Wilson ( who is my mentor ) and the MPA team.

The day covered all aspects on how the judging system works with regard to assessing panels for qualifications and how the judges judge photographs for competitions.

In the morning session my successful A panel was shown to the trainee judges so they could see the way a panel is marked to reach a higher qualification.

All that attended were put in the judges hot seat and had to judge a mock print competitions which was not as easy as it looked.

What was really good as well about the whole day was meeting fellow professional photographers and making new friends.

Each photographer had to submit prints for the judges to judge and what was very pleasing was all my prints achieved a mark higher then 80 2 prints scored 86 so i was very pleased indeed.
