Here’s Fenella’s guide to creating this fabulous natural look;

Complexion:

Always prep the skin really well before applying any make-up.

Start by correcting and concealing any dark areas around the eye – Fenella recommends Bobbi Brown’s concealer’s and corrector’s – correctors brighten and concealer’s lighten an area. These will work fabulously if you have had a sleepless night before your big day. Use the concealer where ever else it is needed on the face – possibly round the nose or over any imperfections.

Then apply the foundation that is right for you – you may prefer tinted moisturizer, a mineral powder or an oil-free cream etc – there are many different foundations suited for all skin types and tones. You want an exact match to your skin so in this image – Fenella used Bobbi Brown liquid foundation in the areas this model most needed it for a medium coverage. Fenella used a foundation brush and blended the foundation into the skin moving the brush upwards. You don’t need much – a little goes a long way!

After you have applied the foundation, apply a powder, in this case Fenella used a Mac blot pressed powder to the t-zone only – this gets rid of shine and sets the make-up really well giving a smooth natural finish. Loose powder will provide more coverage. Using a soft fluffy brush lightly also set the concealer under the eye area.

Blush:

Here, Fenella used a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact on the cheek bones (in Nectar) then a Mac blush (Mocha) to the apples of the cheek with a tiny touch of Bobbi brown blush |(Apricot) for a fresh look and a pop of colour. Always make sure it is blended thoroughly – you can do this by using a powder puff – you don’t want any noticeable blush lines at all! It should look natural and balanced.

Eyes:

Fenella used a Dior 5 eye colour set in 440 (Sunset Café) here – you don’t need to use the full set of colours, it depends on the shadows and the look you want to achieve. Fenella only used 3 of the colours.

Use the palest colour all over the lid first which acts as a base and you can blend the shadows into this that you’re applying later. Apply the darker shade in the crease of the outer eye only – blending it really well so you can’t see any harsh lines. Apply the medium shade to the middle of the socket layering this eye shadow up. Then apply a thin layer of liner on the top lash line and the lower lash line with a new clean slanted brush and then blend this line away so it leaves a soft line. Fenella finished the eye look by using a small amount of natural pearly Mac dazzle dust on the brow bone for that extra subtle glow.

Using Diorshow Iconic waterproof mascara – make sure you coat the back of the lashes as well as you don’t want any fallen eye shadow placed here which could be noticed in any photographs of the bride when looking down. Make sure you apply a layer of mascara to every lash – don’t forget the outer and inner lashes and apply it closely to the base of the lashes separately them as you go along.

Look away and see if the eyes need any more definition and apply accordingly.
Always remember to shape your brows and fill them in lightly – this will frame your face and finish off the look beautifully.

Lips:

Firstly, Fenella used a Bobbi Brown lip liner (ballet pink) covering the lips to create a smooth and even base for the lipstick – lip liner also acts as a great outline for you to precisely colour the lips in. Then she applied a thin layer of YSL Rouge Pur Couture (no11) lipstick all over with a YSL gloss pur in no2 on top just in the centre of the lips to create a lovely shine.

BIPP Wedding Fellowship For Kevin Pengelly Essex & Suffolk Wedding Photographer.

After having a very successful 2011 we thought we would be very hard pressed to beat what was one of the best years Pengelly Photography have had, winning MPA Regional London & Essex Photographer of the Year 2011, MPA Classic Wedding Photographer of the year 2011 and also in August last year we made the long drive up to Darlington where I was awarded my MPA Fellowship in weddings.

Well 2012 could not have got off to a better start as yesterday at BIPP Head Office down in Aylesbury I was awarded my Fellowship in weddings so now am very proud to now hold 2 Fellowships in weddings which means I am now only 1 of 3 wedding photographers in the country to hold a double Fellowship with both the MPA & BIPP.

Fellowship (FBIPP)Attainable for distinguished and exceptional ability and creativity.

Special thanks must go to Kevin Wilson who has over the past two years mentored me to this ultimate accolade, the time and effort Kevin Wilson has put in has been a credit to him as he gives up his time and knowledge freely.

Kevin P would also like to thank all the B&G who images Kevin used in his panel without them Kevin would not be where he is today.

Fellowship is the most prestigious qualification that a professional photographer is able to achieve in social photography.

Fellowship is achieved on production of a collection of work that truly reflects an individual style  one that can be attributed to the author of the submission that consists of 20 faultless images that must hang together as a complete set and be recognised as the body of work of one person.

This work will demonstrate, individuality, symmetry, graphic design, composition and a true mastery of light control. Awarding of Fellowship is the ultimate recognition of one’s artistry and attention to detail in pursuit of excellence. Very few photographers achieve this status.

A full press release will be published soon.

Suffolk Wedding Of Helen & Luis At Rushmere Church & Hintlesham Hall For Essex & Suffolk Wedding Photographer Pengelly Photography

Essex & Suffolk wedding photographer Pengelly Photography have just had the pleasure of photographing the Suffolk wedding of Helen & Luis who were married at St Andrews Church Rushmere then onto one of our favourite wedding venues Hintlesham Hall.

Both Kevin & Sabrina were both really looking forward to Helen’s & Luis wedding as Helen is a professional dancer www.helenbellydance.com and Luis had just before Christmas flown in from Brazil to get married

On a quite windy but sunny winters day we arrived at Helen’s parents house where we received a very warm welcome, after a very welcome cup of coffee we started to photograph all the accessories including Helen’s stunning wedding dress.

The whole day was like we were photographing close friends as both Helen & Luis were such an easy couple to get on with and it made our job very easy indeed as always at Hintlesham Hall we were left plenty of time to capture all the images required with time to spare for Helen & Luis to get to speak with their wedding guests.

Such lovely children to work with and oh so polite :)

Even though it was still quite windy and freezing cold, Helen was still brave enough to have some images taken outside, Helen’s dress was stunning with such lovely detail.

Pengelly Photography are very proud to be one of Hintlesham Hall’s preferred wedding photographers.

Helen’s dancing background came in very handy when we did the image above in the stunning long gallery.

Helen’s very close friends and dancing colleagues who were dancing later in the evening.

Luis sharing a very tender moment with his brother.

This is how all weddings should be great couple that were so relaxed and plenty of time to capture fantastic images, we would like to wish Helen & Luis the very best in married life together and thank you for allowing Pengelly Photography to be part of their very special day.
