Week 12

Happy Tuesday All,

This week we are taking you a wedding we photographed at Blake Hall, Ongar, Essex.  Angela and Sam had a beautiful outside ceremony at Blake Hall and it was lovely that the weather behaved for them;  in the UK it is always a bit hit and miss when ceremonies are arranged outside and there always has to be a contingency plan just in case!

We have chosen this image today because the ceremony did happen outside and we loved taking this image of Angela and Sam walking off hand in hand to start their married life.  Along with the composition and use of light on the day I have used a black and white ‘recipe’ to enhance the almost three dimensional feel to this image.

Let’s hope that Spring arrives soon because Sabrina and I are getting fed up with the rain now!  Looking forward to catching up later in the week with our regular blog.

Week 11

What we love most about wedding photography is the variety and this week’s image taken at Spain’s Hall, Finchingfield, Essex show how diverse a professional wedding photographer’s skills need to be.

This image is from the wedding of Aimee and Tannie and is a twist on the usual bridal party group shot.

There was so much fun an vibrancy surrounding the day we wanted to reflect this in some of the group shots and we love this one because there is so much happening in the one image.

We think it is like a good film or TV programme, no matter how many times you watch it there is always something new to see.

Aimee and Tannie’s day was great we particularly enjoyed the exceptional talents of the bridal party performing their Zimbabwean dance when they made their entrance to the wedding breakfast and the Marrakech band playing in the evening was a absolute delight.

Sabrina and  I often remark on the way home that no matter how many weddings we have photographed over the years, there is always something wonderful and different at each and every one.

Week 9
Good morning from Pengelly Photography hope you all had a great weekend.

We are in a dreamy reflective mood this week, which is why we have chosen this quietly beautiful image of Sophie putting the final touches to her bridal preparations ahead of her marriage to Michael.

It is at this point where all the planning really starts to come together and for one split second the world seems to stop to allow everything to sink in.

In a flash the world starts spinning on its axis and the excitement goes into full gear!
