Wedding Photographers for Hintelsham Hall Ipswich Suffolk-Jessica & Arron

Good Morning Bloggers,

Today’s blog is from the wedding photography of Jessica and Arron at the lovely Hintelsham Hall, Ipswich, Suffolk.

You can probably see from our previous posts that we see lots of the area’s venues regularly, rather than doing the same things each time we are always on the lookout for something a little different to keep things fresh.  This is often guided by our couples’ personalities, we want their wedding stories to be their own and not part of a generic set of images that we produce time after time.

Jessica and Arron were a very fun loving couple and they were always mucking around with each other so we wanted to bring a little of this into their photography too.

The first image of the day makes me smile because Jessica although posing for quite a dreamy shot has a touch of the minx in her and given the chance she would be up to no good in a dash!  The image also has a bigger story to tell as the little ones are all giving away bits of their personalities in this shot.  Jessica’s dress was made for this second image, the full design of the skirt framed her amongst the symmetry of the staircase; doesn’t she look beautiful.  Now this is where there fun loving side comes in and we have replicated the weather house shot.  I hope I am not betraying my age here but years ago there used to be these weather houses, if the woman was out of her door then it was sun and I think it was rain for the man.  This is my version with muted colour tones!  Last but not least; ahh that beautiful dress in this location was perfect; the technique used here was to emphasise the slight apprehension as Jessica is looking for her man.  Every time Sabrina looks at this image she melts; not me of course I am a man and such things would not move me ;)

I am writing this post today having had a whirlwind of a week; after the most fantastic couple of days of assessing qualification panels and competition judging we have also managed to fit in a wedding too!

Happy Easter everyone,

Kevin and Sabrina :)

Wedding Photography Hintelsham Hall Ipswich Suffolk – Farrah and David- Essex Wedding Photographers

Good Morning Bloggers,

Today’s wedding is from a Pengelly popular the sublime Hintelsham Hall Ipswich Suffolk; this venue just oozes grandeur.  It has the most amazing architecture with some dramatic features both inside and out.

We really love getting to know our brides and grooms, it really is an honour that they have booked us to cover their big day and Farrah and David’s wedding was no exception .  How’s this for an interesting fact for today, Farrah is an Apache helicopter mechanic; yes the same ones that are flown by Prince Harry; how brilliant is that!

So for today’s images and kicking off with a really romantic moment as Farrah and David gaze into each others eyes; it has been chosen to demonstrate how important it is that you are really comfortable with your wedding photographer.
This shot would not have been possible but both Sabrina and I like to chat and have fun with our couples and it is this that gives us these wonderful and tender moments.
Image two is a firm favourite; confetti never fails to give us a great photographic opportunity with fluttering petals and many wonderful expressions on the guests’ faces.  While we are on the subject of confetti, lots of venues are quite specific about the type of confetti allowed, if any.  It is always a good idea to check with the venue before you send out the invitations out so that you can pop a little note in to let your guests know the ‘confetti protocol’.
Image three is a bit of fun and you can’t beat a boy’s toy!  This car is very special as David’s dad restored it especially for the wedding and what a beauty.
Our last image for today is a bit of a Pengelly signature image featuring a happy couple, wonderful architecture and lots of lovely leading lines.

Have a brilliant weekend and we have some great news ourselves; our son was playing in the National Schools semi-finals for GCMS in Bedford and his team won 3-1 to reach the finals, it has really made our week.

We would love you to see more of our work and it can be found at Pengelly Photography.

Natural Beauty
Makeup by Fenella St John

Here’s Fenella’s guide to creating this fabulous natural look;

Complexion:

Always prep the skin really well before applying any make-up.

Start by correcting and concealing any dark areas around the eye – Fenella recommends Bobbi Brown’s concealer’s and corrector’s – correctors brighten and concealer’s lighten an area. These will work fabulously if you have had a sleepless night before your big day. Use the concealer where ever else it is needed on the face – possibly round the nose or over any imperfections.

Then apply the foundation that is right for you – you may prefer tinted moisturizer, a mineral powder or an oil-free cream etc – there are many different foundations suited for all skin types and tones. You want an exact match to your skin so in this image – Fenella used Bobbi Brown liquid foundation in the areas this model most needed it for a medium coverage. Fenella used a foundation brush and blended the foundation into the skin moving the brush upwards. You don’t need much – a little goes a long way!

After you have applied the foundation, apply a powder, in this case Fenella used a Mac blot pressed powder to the t-zone only – this gets rid of shine and sets the make-up really well giving a smooth natural finish. Loose powder will provide more coverage. Using a soft fluffy brush lightly also set the concealer under the eye area.

Blush:

Here, Fenella used a Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick Compact on the cheek bones (in Nectar) then a Mac blush (Mocha) to the apples of the cheek with a tiny touch of Bobbi brown blush |(Apricot) for a fresh look and a pop of colour. Always make sure it is blended thoroughly – you can do this by using a powder puff – you don’t want any noticeable blush lines at all! It should look natural and balanced.

Eyes:

Fenella used a Dior 5 eye colour set in 440 (Sunset Café) here – you don’t need to use the full set of colours, it depends on the shadows and the look you want to achieve. Fenella only used 3 of the colours.

Use the palest colour all over the lid first which acts as a base and you can blend the shadows into this that you’re applying later. Apply the darker shade in the crease of the outer eye only – blending it really well so you can’t see any harsh lines. Apply the medium shade to the middle of the socket layering this eye shadow up. Then apply a thin layer of liner on the top lash line and the lower lash line with a new clean slanted brush and then blend this line away so it leaves a soft line. Fenella finished the eye look by using a small amount of natural pearly Mac dazzle dust on the brow bone for that extra subtle glow.

Using Diorshow Iconic waterproof mascara – make sure you coat the back of the lashes as well as you don’t want any fallen eye shadow placed here which could be noticed in any photographs of the bride when looking down. Make sure you apply a layer of mascara to every lash – don’t forget the outer and inner lashes and apply it closely to the base of the lashes separately them as you go along.

Look away and see if the eyes need any more definition and apply accordingly.
Always remember to shape your brows and fill them in lightly – this will frame your face and finish off the look beautifully.

Lips:

Firstly, Fenella used a Bobbi Brown lip liner (ballet pink) covering the lips to create a smooth and even base for the lipstick – lip liner also acts as a great outline for you to precisely colour the lips in. Then she applied a thin layer of YSL Rouge Pur Couture (no11) lipstick all over with a YSL gloss pur in no2 on top just in the centre of the lips to create a lovely shine.

Suffolk Wedding Of Helen & Luis At Rushmere Church & Hintlesham Hall For Essex & Suffolk Wedding Photographer Pengelly Photography

Essex & Suffolk wedding photographer Pengelly Photography have just had the pleasure of photographing the Suffolk wedding of Helen & Luis who were married at St Andrews Church Rushmere then onto one of our favourite wedding venues Hintlesham Hall.

Both Kevin & Sabrina were both really looking forward to Helen’s & Luis wedding as Helen is a professional dancer www.helenbellydance.com and Luis had just before Christmas flown in from Brazil to get married

On a quite windy but sunny winters day we arrived at Helen’s parents house where we received a very warm welcome, after a very welcome cup of coffee we started to photograph all the accessories including Helen’s stunning wedding dress.

The whole day was like we were photographing close friends as both Helen & Luis were such an easy couple to get on with and it made our job very easy indeed as always at Hintlesham Hall we were left plenty of time to capture all the images required with time to spare for Helen & Luis to get to speak with their wedding guests.

Such lovely children to work with and oh so polite :)

Even though it was still quite windy and freezing cold, Helen was still brave enough to have some images taken outside, Helen’s dress was stunning with such lovely detail.

Pengelly Photography are very proud to be one of Hintlesham Hall’s preferred wedding photographers.

Helen’s dancing background came in very handy when we did the image above in the stunning long gallery.

Helen’s very close friends and dancing colleagues who were dancing later in the evening.

Luis sharing a very tender moment with his brother.

This is how all weddings should be great couple that were so relaxed and plenty of time to capture fantastic images, we would like to wish Helen & Luis the very best in married life together and thank you for allowing Pengelly Photography to be part of their very special day.

Kevin & Sabrina :)
