Good Morning Bloggers,
We are back and without further ado welcome to the wedding photography at Gosfield Hall, Braintree, Essex. Say hello to the lovely Roxanne and David
Sabrina and I do love a good mix of church and civil ceremonies and we thoroughly enjoyed the wedding ceremony at St Gregory’s Church PLACE. There is something quite magical when you look at the beautiful stained glass windows that are such a feature in our churches. After the service we headed off to Gosfield Hall, which is a magnificent building. Did you know this was once a royal residence and this wedding venue is just a dream for photographers with its amazing architecture and oak panelling. I think I could give Keith Lemon and Loyd Grossman a run for their money if I were to present through the keyhole!!!
So let’s have a look at today’s images. I never tire of watching a couple make their commitment to each other and in such spectacular surroundings too, just look at the stained glass window; what a clever boy I am with my earlier references . This is Roxanne looking very regal on the chaise longue and I love this image for the pose and surroundings that blend together perfectly. For those of you that know me and follow my blogs will know I love a good window and the Gosfield windows are sublime, there is always an excited Pengelly that has a spring in his step when we photograph here. I am also partial to a nice door and just look at this as the door with its beautiful frame that enables Roxanne and David to sit beautifully within it. David is in the armed forces and I have the greatest respect for him and the job he and his colleagues do for Queen and country. I hope you had the most wonderful day with your beautiful new wife.
So the Pengellys have been quiet, why I hear you ask? Well we had a very busy August and along with my commitments to my mentoring and training, time was very short so I had to focus and catch up with everything. Our daughter Chloe did extremely well in her GCSE’s and it was good to try and spend some quality time with the family when we could before the new term began. We are back on track now and I hope you will pop back to see what we are up to. Sabrina put the kettle on, I am all talked out….I will pay for that later

Good morning bloggers,
It is always lovely when Thank You cards drop through our letter box and here are two we have just received.
Sabrina & I really appreciate that our lovely B&G’s take the time to send us such lovely messages.
Dear Kevin & Sabrina,
Thank you so much for the amazing photographs and services you provided us for our special day.
Not only did you ensure that despite delays and rain we had incredible pictures, but you literally saved the day in organising everything else to fit with the altered timings!!
Your services were made all the more special by you both and the support you provided through the whole process.
Tim & Lucy Underwood.
Kevin & Sabrina,
Thank you so much for the beautiful photographs you took of our wedding.
We had the most perfect day and you both really helped to make it what it was.
It was great to meet you both before and really put our minds at ease.
It’s been great fun, and very hard selecting the photo’s for our album.
We’re really pleased with all of the photographs and the memories they already bring back.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
We love it when our couples want to have a pre wedding photography shoot; Victoria and Craig have since been married in Essex at the Channels Golf Club. Channels is a fabulous venue set in the heart of Essex and is easily accessible from Suffolk, North and South Essex. The surrounding countryside is just beautiful so Sabrina and I love it when we have the opportunity to photograph there.
Now looking at this image I can sense you are a little confused; set in the heart of Essex I hear you say, so why the sea? Well sometimes it is nice to have the pre wedding shoot at a different location to the wedding reception and we thought it would be really good fun and a complete twist to have some images at the seaside. We had a lovely time at Frinton on Sea; this is such a quaint and beautiful seaside town with many echoes to a glorious yesteryear. I love this image for many reasons, firstly the crop is very dramatic, and this really brings together how similar the sky and sea were in colour that day. I have further enhanced this with some muted colour tones to really get ‘that feel’ to the image. I also love it’s simplicity and composition, nowadays things can be complicated too much with so much post production and reliance on Photoshop that images rarely resemble what actually was on the shoot. The best images in my opinion are the ones that wow in the back of the camera, where care has been taken over exposure, light, composition and placement; if they wow without bells and whistles things can only get better.
Pop back later in the week for our latest blog Pengelly readers!

This is a Pengelly signature image; black and white, utilising the background with dramatic skies; we love a bit of drama! It was taken at the beautiful Hylands House Chelmsford Essex with its immaculate grounds that are tended by the acclaimed Writtle college.
As you can see it had been threatening to rain and we wanted to make use of those skies, so Baheeja and Warren, who were brilliant by the way, had a lovely walk with the house in the background.
How about this for timing, as they wandered inside the heavens opened!
We love this image not just because of the drama but it also reminds us of something out of Jane Austen.
Have a good week
Kevin & Sabrina
